This video news segment is really good. It is called "An Army of Faith: Inside the MTC" and explains what missionaries go through as they learn in the MTC. It helps understand what Elder Record is doing right now.

Angels Round About You

Missionaries are blessed with angels to protect, lead and guide them. We were reading this scripture again.

"And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up." (D&C 84:88)

We then noticed that Elder Record already has an angel by his left shoulder in this picture.

Click on the picture and zoom in on the reflection of the picture of Jesus Christ and the child. There is a faint reflection that appears like an angel standing in front of the Savior and pointing to Elder Record with his right arm. The angel is dressed in a white robe and his left shoulder is directly in front of the child's face. The angel's robe drapes down from his right arm across the midsection of his robe in a layered effect. The bottom of his robe can been seen covering the inscription plaque inset in the frame centered below the picture of Christ. Not sure how the reflection showed up, but it is really inspiring to look at. See if you can see the image of the angel.

Elder Record has Reported to the MTC

Elder Record reported to the MTC and is ready to go to work. Good luck Elder Record, we will be praying for you and your success.

Elder Record is Official

Elder Jason W Record was setup apart this evening as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was set apart by President Duffin, one having the proper priesthood authority, by the laying on of hands, and Elder Record has been given the authority to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Bishop Marshall shared some thoughts, and specifically this scripture.

"And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up." (D&C 84:88)

Feelings were tender, but we are so excited for him and the blessings that await. He reports to the Missionary Training Center tomorrow at 1:30pm.

A Conversation with President Beesley

President Jon and Sister Evona Beesley called Jason this evening. He also spoke with Elders Richards and Sparky the assistants to the mission president. They asked him about his HAM radio license. President and Sister Beesley are HAM radio operators and asked Jason to bring our HAM radios. They asked him if he was interested in speaking a foreign language. Of course he is very excited to learn a new language. He was given the task to learn greetings in the following languages: Spanish, Tongan, Samoan, Tagalog, Hmong, and Russian. He said he is ready and willing to learn a foreign language if called to do so. He shared his goal to be happy and show the people he teaches the joy the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought in his life.

The mission is striving to be a Zion mission. He was given another task to read the following scriptures and to be prepared to share his views on how to become a Zion mission.
